Maryland Athletics Community Coming Together For Fundraising Event May 13 in New York City

Maryland Athletics is hosting its Another National Championship fundraising event on May 13 at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City.

Billed as an evening to elevate Maryland Athletics, the event will celebrate success across all of Maryland's sports. The theme of this inaugural year is Hardwood Champions and serves as a cap to the 20th anniversary of the 2006 women's basketball national championship team and a tip off to the 25th anniversary of the 2002 men's basketball national championship team.

"This event is an opportunity to both celebrate the rich history of Maryland Athletics and position our department for future championships," said Jim Smith, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics. "We are coming together to raise resources on behalf of Maryland Athletics, celebrate Maryland legends and continue to ensure they are a part of our efforts, and toast our Terps community – investors and fans alike – for all they do to make us better."

Attendees include members of the 2002 men's basketball and 2006 women's basketball national championship teams, featuring Terrapin stars Lonny Baxter, Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, and Crystal Langhorne, along with Maryland Basketball Hall of Famers Joe Smith, Greivis Vasquez and Gary Williams, Maryland Football legend Shawne Merriman, and current coach Hall of Fame coaches Sasho Cirovski and Missy Meharg.

Auction items include dinner for a small group on the 50-yard line at SECU Stadium or at center court in XFINITY Center, the opportunity to make your own ice cream flavor at the Maryland Diary, opportunity for a catered private event at Jones-Hill House, dinner with Gary Williams, two floor seats to a men's basketball game, custom Maryland Terrapins jewelry from The Source Fine Jewelers, and more.
