COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland Women's Tennis Team won its first home Big Ten conference match of the season against Rutgers 4-1.
In doubles, the Terps earned the point in a tiebreak thriller, eventually won by
Aida Eissa and
Diya Challa to give the Terps the point!
In singles matches, freshmen
Magdalena Baniak and
Lucia Donnelly secured their points, while
Diya Challa put up a valiant effort in a defeat.
To clinch the victory,
Oliwia Orlinska won both of her sets after being down 4-1 in the second set to secure the Terps' win!
The match was clinched after that. The Terps are now 10-2 on the season and 2-1 in Big Ten play.
