Maryland Grabs Wild 10-9 Win Over Purdue

Six Terps recorded multi-hit games in Sunday’s thrilling series finale.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland and Purdue wrapped their weekend series up with a wild, back-and-forth Sunday finale at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, and the Terps walked away with a 10-9 win. Ty Kaunas pushed the game's final run across in the eighth inning to move Maryland to 11-8 in 2026.

Jordan Crosland unloaded on a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to get the Terps on the board. He's hit five homers in his past 10 games and picked up a pair of RBIs on the season.  Nate Hawton-Henley made his first-career start, and came up with a key two-RBI single with the bases loaded to cut Purdue's lead to 5-4. Brayden Martin's team-leading 31st hit of the season gave the Terps their first lead during a four-run sixth inning. He finished with a pair of knocks as one of six Terps with multiple hits in the win. Paul Jones II notched himself a three-hit day that included an RBI double in the Terps' game-tying, two-run seventh inning. Michael Iannazzo drove Maryland's eighth run of the day as the two squads took an 8-8 tie into the final two innings.  The Terps pushed two runs across in the eighth inning, including one on Kaunas' infield single, to grab their first Big Ten win of 2026.
