Offensive Lineman Tellek Lockette Joins Maryland Football

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland football program has added veteran offensive lineman Tellek Lockette, it was officially announced on Monday.

A 6-foot-3, 327-pound senior from Miami, Florida, Lockette arrives in College Park after four seasons at Texas State (2024-25) and Louisiana Monroe (2022-23). Across more than 1,000 career pass-blocking snaps, he has allowed just four sacks and 14 quarterback hurries, according to Pro Football Focus.

Despite being limited to four appearances due to injury in 2025, Lockette was graded as the top-ranked Group of Five offensive lineman by PFF. He earned significant preseason recognition entering the year, including East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 honors, First Team All-Sun Belt recognition from Phil Steele and First Team All-Offense accolades from Athlon Sports.

Lockette started all 13 games at right guard for Texas State in 2024, helping power one of the nation's most productive offenses. The Bobcats ranked fifth nationally in total offense (476.9 yards per game), eighth in scoring offense (36.5 points per game), 16th in rushing offense (208.2 yards per game) and fourth in first downs.

Prior to Texas State, Lockette was a mainstay on the offensive line at ULM. He started all 12 games at right guard in 2023, logging 679 snaps and earning the fourth-highest pass-blocking grade among Sun Belt guards by PFF. As a true freshman in 2022, he started the first five games of the season, including games against Texas and Alabama, and appeared in eight contests overall.

In high school, Lockette was a standout at both Miami Northwestern and St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida. A three-time first team all-state selection, he was named Broward County Lineman of the Year as a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas, anchoring a 14-1 squad that captured the Class 7A state championship while averaging nearly 200 rushing yards and 42 points per game. He did not allow a sack or quarterback pressure as a senior and helped Miami Northwestern to back-to-back Class 5A state titles earlier in his prep career.

Lockette has one year of eligibility remaining.
