Giving Day Is Gameday for Maryland Athletics on March 4

On March 4, the Maryland Terrapins community will come together for the University of Maryland's annual Giving Day — a 24-hour fundraising effort designed to support student-athletes, sport programs, and key priorities across the department.

Giving Day provides fans, alumni, families, and friends the opportunity to invest in the areas of Maryland Athletics that matter most to them. Supporters can direct their gift to a specific sport program, unrestricted funds that provide flexible spending, Fearless Women Fund, facilities initiatives, or other impact and endowment funds that strengthen the department's foundation and elevate the success of all 20 programs.

Gifts made on Giving Day directly benefit Maryland's student-athletes by enhancing scholarship support, advancing training and competition resources, and elevating the overall student-athlete experience. Participation at every level plays a role in sustaining the championship standard and comprehensive excellence that define Maryland Athletics.

In celebration of his first Giving Day at Maryland, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics Jim Smith will contribute $1,000 for every 100 donors who make a gift, reinforcing the department's goal of reaching 1,000 donors in 24 hours and the importance of coming together in the spirit of community and winning.
