Freshman Ty Kaunas logged a four-hit day in the Terps’ series-evening win.
Ty Kaunas recorded a four-hit, three-RBI day against the Hoosiers. He reached base five times in the win, marking his best offensive performance of his young career. Logan Hastings tossed a complete-game in Maryland's third run-rule win of the week, marking the Terps' first complete-game effort since 2024 and the first in Big Ten play since Ryan Ramsey's perfect game in 2022.
Maryland took the lead with a hit parade in the second inning that featured five-straight knocks from Colin Gibbs, Jordan Crosland, Brayden Martin, Kaunas, and Paul Jones II. Crosland's two-RBI double tied the game before Kaunas' double plated Crosland as Maryland took the lead.
Jones II ripped a double off the wall in center field to plate another run before a bunt from Nate Hawton-Henley extended the lead in the Terps' five-run, six-hit inning. The Hoosiers' early lead they took with a three-run, four-hit first inning disappeared as Indiana went to the bullpen.Crosland gets our second double in a row while diriving in two to tie the game‼️
