
Seven-Run First Inning Paves Way To 19-8 Win Over Mount St. Mary’s

Four Terps drove in multiple runs in Maryland’s midweek victory.
Jordan Crosland took the first pitch of the afternoon 411 feet to left-center field for his ninth homer of the season to give Maryland an immediate lead. The Terps then loaded the bases, setting Bud Coombs up for a bases-clearing double.
Franklin Pichardo Jr. left the yard a few batters later with a three-run shot of his own as the Terps continued their early barrage. His second-career blast gave Maryland a 7-0 lead in a first inning that saw the Terps bat around. Ryan Costello blew the game open in the fifth inning with a grand slam to extend his team-leading home run total to 14 and give the Terps a 13-2 lead. Coombs finished with two hits and four RBIs, David Mendez went 2-3 and scored thrice, Costello drew three walks to go with his five RBIs and three runs, and Crosland logged a three-hit game.
