COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland football long snapper Ethan Gough and offensive lineman Isaiah Wright have been named to the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Now in its 20th year, the Hampshire Honor Society recognizes college football players from all levels of competition who excel both on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must be a senior or graduate player on track to earn their degree, maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2, and have been a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2025 season.

Gough graduated in the spring of 2025 with a 3.804 GPA in Criminology and Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Business and Management. A four-year starter as Maryland's primary long snapper from 2022-25, Gough earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition in 2025 and participated in Maryland's Pro Day last month. His excellence off the field has been equally impressive, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, Academic All-Big Ten recognition, and distinction as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. Gough was also named to the 2025 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and recognized as a nominee for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

Wright, who earned his undergraduate degree in African American Studies from the University of Buffalo, is currently pursuing a master's degree in Behavioral and Community Health at Maryland. In 2025, Wright started all 12 games at left guard and played a key role in anchoring a Maryland offensive line that allowed just nine sacks on the season, the fifth fewest in the nation and second fewest in the Big Ten. He was also selected as one of just three season-long team captains by his teammates and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
