Hat tricks from Keeley Block and Lauren LaPointe lifted Maryland past the Midshipmen.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — No. 3 Maryland won a tense battle with the No. 6 (fifth-ranked) Midshipmen 14-10 at SECU Stadium on Thursday afternoon. Hat tricks from Keeley Block and Lauren LaPointe helped push Maryland (18-3, 6-2 Big Ten) onto its 29th Final Four appearance in program history.
The Terps will head to Chicago to face No. 2 North Carolina on May 22 in the NCAA Tournament Semifinals at 3 or 5:30 p.m., ET. Maryland scored the final five goals of the game and had six different players log multi-point games.
Edmondson scored the Terps' first goal of the night in their three-goal first quarter. The strike earned Edmondson her 218th-career point, moving her past Cathy Nelson and into a tie for 26th place in Maryland's all-time record book. Edmondson logged a two-goal game to take sole possession of the spot.
Navy was led by a six-goal performance from Alyssa Chung, who earned herself Navy's single-season goal record (83) on the day. The Midshipmen dropped to 20-2 (8-1 Patriot) on the season. Suriano made nine saves in the win to send the Terps onto Chicago.

Edmondson scored the Terps' first goal of the night in their three-goal first quarter.
