
Maryland Women’s Soccer Rallies To Earn 2-2 Draw With Virginia Tech

A momentous second half helped the Terps salvage a draw in their first road test of 2026.
A pair of goals late in the opening frame gave Virginia Tech a quick two-goal advantage after the two squads spent the first 30 minutes battling for possession. Farmer scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 65th minute to put Maryland on the board.
Petry made a statement with her first career goal in the 71st minute to tie the match at 2-2. Petry's goal was the first Terrapin goal of the season not scored by Farmer, who became the first Terp this century to score the team's first four goals of a season. Goalkeeper Faith Luckey made four key saves in a scoreless second half after entering the match at halftime. She made a dramatic leaping save in the final seconds to seal the draw.
