Matt Shaw has continued to carve out a versatile role with the Chicago Cubs in 2026, playing in 42 games across six different defensive positions. The former Terp is batting .242 with 23 hits, six doubles, three home runs, 12 RBIs, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases through the first two months of the season. Shaw's top performance came on April 15 against Philadelphia, when he went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs in an 11-2 win, while also adding home runs on April 6 at Tampa Bay and April 29 at San Diego.

Brandon Lowe has been one of the top offensive second basemen in baseball through the first two months of 2026, batting .270 with 51 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, 33 RBIs, 32 runs scored and a .906 OPS over 49 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates. His 13 home runs are the most among MLB second basemen, while his OPS also ranks first at the position. Lowe has delivered several standout moments, including homering in his first plate appearance with Pittsburgh on Opening Day, crushing two home runs against the Phillies on May 15 and adding his 13th homer of the season on May 21 at St. Louis.

Sean Burke has been a steady arm for the Chicago White Sox through the first two months of 2026, going 2-3 with a 3.90 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 54 strikeouts over 60.0 innings across 11 appearances, including nine starts. Among American League pitchers, Burke ranks 24th in ERA and 21st in WHIP, while his 1.4 FanGraphs WAR ranks No. 22 among MLB pitchers. Some of his best outings have come over the past month, including six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in a win at San Diego on May 2, 7.1 scoreless innings against Washington on April 26 and seven innings of two-run ball with eight strikeouts against Minnesota on May 26.

LaMonte Wade Jr. has spent the 2026 season with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights in the Chicago White Sox organization, continuing to show the on-base ability that has defined his professional career. Through 42 games, Wade is slashing .259/.423/.446 with six home runs, 24 RBIs, 25 runs scored and two stolen bases. The former Terp was named Charlotte's Player of the Week for May 4-10 after hitting .429 with a .636 on-base percentage, six hits, one homer, eight walks and four RBI.
KYLE McCOY, CINCINNATI REDS
Kyle McCoy has made an impressive start to his professional career in the Cincinnati Reds organization, going 1-1 with a 3.14 ERA, 28 strikeouts and a 1.40 WHIP over 28.2 innings across eight appearances, including four starts. The former Terp opened the year with Single-A Daytona before earning a promotion to High-A Dayton on May 22. McCoy delivered one of his best outings in his High-A debut, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits to lead the Dragons to a win.

Jose Cuas has been a strong veteran presence out of the bullpen for the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers in the Kansas City Royals organization. Through 19 appearances, the former Terp is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA, 25 strikeouts and a 1.23 WHIP over 22.0 innings. Cuas has been especially sharp in May, including a three-scoreless-inning week and a hitless, scoreless relief outing as part of Omaha's 9-0 shutout win over Indianapolis on May 10.
BEN COWLES, CHICAGO CUBS
Ben Cowles has continued to provide infield depth in the Chicago Cubs organization, spending the 2026 season with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. Through 93 at-bats, the former Terp is batting .258 with 24 hits, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 17 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .793 OPS. Cowles' biggest performance of the season came on May 24 against Memphis, when he went 4-for-6 with a grand slam, two doubles, six RBIs, three runs scored and a walk in Iowa's 18-4 win.

Ryan Ramsey has spent the 2026 season with the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers in the Kansas City Royals organization, making 10 appearances with nine starts. The former Terp is 3-4 with a 5.44 ERA, 40 strikeouts and a 1.57 WHIP over 44.2 innings, continuing to log regular work in Omaha's rotation. Ramsey has put together some strong recent outings, including five innings of two-run ball in a win over St. Paul on May 19 and five innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts to help Omaha clinch a series over the Saints on May 24.

Nick Lorusso has spent the 2026 season with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies in the New York Mets organization, providing power and defensive versatility across the infield. Through 145 at-bats, the former Terp has totaled 31 hits, eight home runs, 20 RBIs, 18 runs scored, three stolen bases and a .720 OPS. Lorusso has been especially hot in May, launching six home runs over an 11-game stretch, including four in a series at Richmond and a go-ahead solo shot on May 24 that helped lift Binghamton to a 2-1 win.

Jason Savacool has worked out of the bullpen in the St. Louis Cardinals organization in 2026, spending most of the season with the High-A Peoria Chiefs while also earning a pair of brief promotions to Triple-A Memphis. Through 12 appearances, the former Terp is 0-2 with one save, a 8.10 ERA, 16 strikeouts and 16.2 innings pitched. Savacool's top outing came in Peoria's home opener on April 7, when he tossed three scoreless innings with just one hit allowed, one walk and two strikeouts to earn his first save of the season.

Nick Dean has been a reliable arm for the Double-A Knoxville Smokies in the Chicago Cubs organization, going 4-1 with a 4.67 ERA, 33 strikeouts and a 1.15 WHIP over 27.0 innings across eight appearances, including two starts. The former Terp has been especially effective in a bulk relief role, highlighted by four scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a win over Chattanooga on April 26 and four innings with six strikeouts in a win over Birmingham on May 10. Dean has also helped anchor a strong Knoxville staff that led all Double-A clubs with a 2.83 ERA through the first half of May.
NIGEL BELGRAVE, MIAMI MARLINS
Nigel Belgrave has spent the 2026 season with the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos in the Miami Marlins organization. Through 14 appearances, the former Terp has recorded four saves, a 7.52 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 20.1 innings. Belgrave has still delivered in several high-leverage spots, including a six-out save in a 7-4 win over Biloxi on May 2 and another save on May 20 as Pensacola moved above .500 for the first time this season.
LUKE SHLIGER, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS AND DETROIT TIGERS
Luke Shliger has had a busy start to 2026, beginning the year in the San Francisco Giants organization before signing with the Detroit Tigers and joining the High-A West Michigan Whitecaps on May 10. The former Terp has appeared in limited action so far, batting .270 with 10 hits, one home run, eight RBIs, seven runs scored, three stolen bases and a .735 OPS across 37 at-bats.

Logan Berrier has continued his first full professional season in the Detroit Tigers organization with the High-A West Michigan Whitecaps. Working exclusively out of the bullpen, the former Terp has gone 0-3 with a 3.27 ERA, one save, 21 strikeouts and a 1.45 WHIP across 22.0 innings. Berrier has been a steady relief option for West Michigan, limiting opponents to one home run while averaging better than a strikeout per inning.
