
Jalen Smith Inducted Into Baltimore Catholic League Hall Of Fame

Ellicott City, MD - Former Terp and current Chicago Bull Jalen Smith was officially inducted into Baltimore Catholic League Hall of Fame as part of its 12-member Class of 2026.
At Maryland, Smith played two seasons (2018-20) before entering the 2020 NBA Draft where he was the 10th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns. During his sophomore campaign, he was named to the All-Big Ten First Team and the All-Big Ten Defensive Team. He earned All-America Third Team honors from the Associated Press, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, the NABC, and the USBWA after averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds for the season. He was also a semifinalist for the 2020 Naismith Player of the Year Award.
As a freshman, he averaged 11.7 points and 6.8 rebounds to earn a spot on the 2019 Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
Smith played two seasons for Phoenix before being traded to Indiana where he played from 2022-24. He has played in Chicago since 2024. Overall in his NBA career, Smith has played in 324 games averaging 8.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.
He stared at Mount St. Joseph where he was a McDonald's All-American and a two-time BCL Player of the Year. He was also a two-time Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018.

The Class of 2026 will join 82 previous honorees who were inducted in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2024.
