The Terps’ 5-1 record marks the program’s best start to a season since 2021.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Terps swept Seton Hall in the Maryland Tournament on Friday night (25-21, 25-18, 25-10) as they moved to 5-1 on the season, marking the program's best record through six matches since 2021. Sydney Bryant led the charge for Maryland with 11 kills while Haley Melby tallied 10. Eva Rohrbach, Duru Gökçen and Ava Brown combined for 16 kills and 10 blocks as the Terps won their fourth straight match.

Four different Terps delivered aces in their 25-21 first-set win on a night where they tallied a season-high eight total aces. Maryland took early command of the second set and didn't look back in its 25-18 win as the Terps moved a set away from victory. A 25-10 third-set win sealed Maryland's win in its fifth all-time meeting with Seton Hall (5-2 in 2026).

Prior to Friday's match, Maryland honored the memories of the victims of 9/11 on its 25th anniversary. The Terps collected their fourth sweep of the young season and their third in a row for the first time since 2024. Maryland will carry its four-match winning streak into Saturday's clash with Princeton as the Maryland Tournament rolls on.

How it Happened:
1st Set:

Bryant recorded the Terps' first kill of the night.
An ace from Melby tied the set at 8-8.
The Terps took their first lead with a 6-0 run that gave them an 11-8 advantage.
Raina Chwialkowski and Brown delivered aces as Maryland expanded its lead.
A kill from Melby gave the Terps their 20th point.
An ace from Sara Toth put Maryland on the doorstep of victory.
The Terps won the first set, 25-21.

2nd Set:

Maryland jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead.
An ace from Rohrbach extended the Terps' advantage to 8-4.
Toth's second ace gave Maryland its 10th point of the set.
Back-to-back kills from Melby and Rohrback kept Maryland ahead, 17-11.
The Terps cruised to a 25-18 set win.

3rd Set:

A 7-1 run gave the Terps an early 10-5 win.
Seton Hall took a timeout as Maryland extended its lead to 12-6.
Maryland led 15-8 at the media timeout.
Brooklynne Brass delivered Maryland's seventh ace during an 8-0 run.
Chwialkowski's late ace set a new season high.
The Terps closed out their 25-10 set win to end the night.

Friday marked the fifth all-time meeting between Maryland and Seton Hall in a series that dates back to 1988.
