The Terps are 6-1 to start the 2026 season after their fourth straight sweep.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Terps dominated Princeton in a three-set win (25-17, 25-15, 25-20) on Friday night in the Maryland Tournament to secure their fifth straight win and fourth straight sweep for the first time since 2023.

Sydney Bryant led the offensive surge with 14 kills while Haley Melby tallied nine and Duru Gökçen logged seven. Sara Toth had 39 assists and six digs. Defensively, Eva Rohrbach and Ava Brown put on a blocking clinic with seven and four, respectively. The Terps (6-1) hit an impressive .374 on Saturday night as they improved to 17-3 all-time against Princeton (1-4).

Maryland's win marked its fifth straight win, giving the Terps back-to-back seasons with five-match winning streaks, and marked its fourth straight sweep for the first time since 2023. The Terps will look to keep their mojo going as they wrap up the Maryland Tournament against Princeton on Sunday.

How it Happened:
1st Set:

Brooklynne Brass delivered Maryland's first ace of the night.
The Terps stormed out to a 10-3 lead.
Melby recorded an ace during a 4-0 run.
A kill from Gökçen extended the lead to 19-9.
Melby's second ace of the set put Maryland two points from winning the set.
The Terps took the first set, 25-17.

2nd Set:

Back-to-back kills from Rohrbach and Melby put Maryland up, 6-3.
Raina Chwialkowski delivered an ace to extend the lead to 11-7.
A 5-0 Maryland run put the set out of reach.
A Byrant kill gave the Terps their 20th point of the set.
Melby finished the 25-15 set win with a kill.

3rd Set:

The Terps used an 8-1 run to claim an early 10-4 lead.
A Princeton ace cut the Maryland advantage to 13-10.
The Terps led 15-11 at the media timeout.
Bryant delivered another late kill
Maryland ended the night with a 25-20 set win.
