COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The University of Maryland volleyball team hosts the Maryland Tournament this weekend, with matches scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Terps will face Seton Hall, Princeton and Saint Peter's, with all four teams playing each other throughout the weekend. All matches will be played in the Stephen M. Schanwald Pavilion at XFINITY Center and streamed live on Big Ten Plus.

Maryland opens tournament play against Seton Hall on Friday, with first serve set for 7 p.m.

Parking Information:

Fans coming for the 4 PM Friday match will need to pay for parking in metered spots around the Xfinity Center or in Lot XVL.

Fans coming for the 7 PM Friday match or the Saturday and Sunday matches can park for free in lots 4b and 9b outside XFINITY Center.

Strong start

Maryland faced the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for the first time in program history on Sunday, earning a three-set victory, 25-15, 25-16, 25-16, in its home opener.
Strong Start: Maryland improved to 3-1 with the victory, securing its best start to a season since 2023 and its seventh sweep in a home opener since 2015.
Strong Serving: Four aces in the opening set helped Maryland to a dominant 25-15 victory. The Terps finished the match with a season-high seven aces.
The Terps rolled past George Mason, 25-14, 25-10, 25-12, Monday afternoon to win their third straight match.
Maryland improved to 4-1 in 2026, marking the program's best start to a season since 2023.
Maryland took early control with a 25-14 first-set victory. George Mason hit minus-.194 in the opening frame and minus-.061 for the match.

Duru Gökçen recorded a team-high four kills against UMES.
Gökçen also recorded 3.5 total blocks against George Mason, including three blocks in the first set.
Haley Melby led Maryland with 13 kills against George Mason.
Sydney Bryant recorded seven kills, while Eva Rohrbach added six kills against George Mason.

freshmen Making an impact

Six incoming freshmen, Brooklynne Brass, Marlee Sivak, Ioanna Dimitriou, Elayna Davidson, Ava Brown and Raina Chwialkowski make up the No. 16-ranked freshman class in the nation, according to Prep Dig.
Brooklynne Brass recorded 15 digs in three sets against Arkansas.
Raina Chwialkowski recorded two aces in the first set against UMES.
Ava Brown recorded six kills against George Mason.
The class is Maryland's second-highest-ranked incoming group in program history and the highest-ranked class of the Hughes era.
Chwialkowski was named the 2024-25 Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year, becoming the award's recipient for the second consecutive year.

Seton Hall:

Record: 5-1
Junior Alondra Villanueva (Lima, Peru) posted career highs with 19 kills and 13 digs in Seton Hall's five-set comeback victory over Western Carolina.
Gwen Adler (Barrington, Ill.) recorded her second consecutive double-double in the victory.
Seton Hall rallied after falling behind 2-1 in sets, hitting .444 in the fourth set and .350 in the fifth to complete the comeback.
The Pirates defeated Western Carolina, 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 25-15, 15-6), in the Blue Ridge Classic finale Sunday.

Princeton:

Colgate swept Princeton, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-18), Saturday at Cotterell Court.
The loss concluded Princeton's weekend at the Colgate Volleyball Classic.

Saint Peter's:

Saint Peter's fell to Loyola, 3-0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-18), Tuesday.
The Peacocks recorded 29 kills and two aces in the match.
Victoria Pruvost and Korlina T. Rodriguez Menendez led Saint Peter's offensively.
