Rogers, Dutko Lead Terps At Spiked Shoe Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Four Terps placed in the top-30 individually as the Maryland cross country team placed fifth overall at the Penn State Spike Shoe Invitational on Friday morning. Eva Rogers crossed the finish line in 18th place, while Katie Dutko finished 26th on the 6K PSU Cross Country Course.
The meet featured some of the top programs in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions. Syracuse, ranked fourth in the Northeast region, won the overall team meet, while host Penn State (2nd in the Mid-Atlantic) took second.
Rogers led the Terps individually with a time of 21 minutes, 25.7 seconds, while Dutko was just behind at 21 minutes, 48.0 seconds. Rogers' time was her career-best on the Penn State course dropping by three seconds compared to her sophomore campaign.
Rose Coats placed 28th (21:50.1) followed by freshman Kate Konyar (29th, 21:53.8). Maren Iski rounded out Maryland's top five scorers with a time of 22 minutes, 1.4 seconds to place 34th in the field of 120 runners.
The Terps will next return to action on Friday, October 2 at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, PA. One of the top annual meets on the East Coast is set to being at 10:15 AM.
