The Terps’ nine-match winning streak came to an end in their conference opener on Thursday night.
WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — Maryland took to the road to open Big Ten play, but ran into a powerful No. 10 Purdue squad and fell in three sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-9). The Terps saw their nine-match winning streak come to an end, but remain 10-2 (0-1 Big Ten) in 2026. Ava Brown (8 kills, 2 blocks), Brooklynne Brass (7 kills, 3 blocks), Eva Rohrbach (7 kills, 2 blocks) and Sara Toth (23 assists) all had solid nights, but The Terps fell to a solid Boilermakers (8-2, 1-0 Big Ten) team.

- Brass recorded Maryland's first kill of the night to tie the set 3-3.
- The Boilermakers pulled ahead with a 6-1 run.
- A kill from Brown cut the deficit to 15-11.
- Back-to-back kills from Duru Gökçen and Brown pulled Maryland closer.
- Purdue went on a 5-0 run late in the set and claimed it, 25-16.
- Gökçen opened the set with a kill.
- Marlee Sivak and Brown recorded back-to-back kills early in the frame.
- A block from Brass gave the Terps their 10th point of the set.
- Purdue used an ace to claim a 15-11 lead at the media break.
