COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland faced the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for the first time ever on Sunday, and the Terps came away with a three-set victory (25-15, 25-16, 25-16) in their home opener. Maryland (3-1) secured its best start to a season since 2023 with its seventh sweep in a home opener since 2015.
Four aces in the initial frame paved the way to a dominant 25-15 set win to open the match. Maryland finished the day with a season-high seven aces. Raina Chwialkowski had two aces in the first set while Duru Gökçen tallied a team-high four kills as the Terps took early control.

The third set felt like the tightest of the three, but Maryland capped the day with another 25-16 set win. The Terps are unbeaten in their last 11 home openers, excluding the 2020 COVID-shortened season. Maryland is back in action on Monday against George Mason.All power from Brooklynne 🚀
