BEFORE MARYLAND - Maryland Distinguished Scholar honorable mention at Good Counsel HS... Earned Principal's List or First Honors all four years... Member of National Honor Society, Saint Mary's Scholars and Key Club... Lettered four seasons in cross country, three seasons in track and field... Holds Good Counsel cross country school record at 5,000 meters in 15:59... Second team All-Met in cross country as a senior... Finished fourth individually at league meet and second in Private School Championship... First team All-Gazette as a senior after honorable mention as a junior... Fifth in league individually... Falcons won Washington Catholic Athletic Conference X-C title in 2007... Scored at league track meet in 1600 and 3200... Pre-Maryland PRs: 800 - 2:02; 1600 - 4:29; 3200 - 9:51; XC (5K) - 15:59; 3-Miles - 15:48.

PERSONAL - Born in Silver Spring... Plans to major in criminal justice with an eye toward a career as a police officer or an FBI agent... Youngest of five children... Parents are Terry and Richard Graves... Ran as a youngster for D.C. Redwings club, coached by current Terp assistant Desmond Dunham... Chose Maryland over Appalachian State and Mount St. Mary's... Biked the 185-mile C&O Canal as a 6-year-old in just four days... Thinks distance events should be all downhill... Lists Derek Jeter as his sports hero and his father as his non-sports hero... Enjoys his mother's spaghetti and meatballs before a race... Would cast Brad Pitt in a movie about his life... Likes ping pong, guitar and snowboarding.
