Family Duo Makes All-ACC Tennis Teams

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Junior Delila Causevic (Silver Spring, Md.) and freshman Haris Causevic 0(Silver Spring, Md.) were named to the 2002 All-ACC team Friday.
For Delila, it is her third conference selection. She is ranked No. 49 nationally, The junior boasted a 24-9 record in spring competition, heading Maryland's lineup at the No. 1 position. Despite her win over FSU's top ranked Anca Dumitrescu in the first round of ACC competition, the Terps fell to the Seminoles 4-3 to end the 2002 season with a 10-11 overall record.
For Haris, this is his first conference honor. Like his sister, the freshman led the Terps at the No. 1 singles position. He ended the 2001-02 season with a 21-7 record overall with an 11-1 mark in the fall, including two tournament titles. The men's team concluded its 2002 season with a 4-0 loss to Virginia in the ACC Championships to finish with a 7-10 record. Earlier in the year, the Terrapin standout helped Maryland, the only non-scholarship team in the ACC, to its first conference win in 10 years. Haris becomes the first men's player to receive ALL-ACC honors since Danny Cantwell in 1992.
The siblings were born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia, where they first got started in the game. Currently, they reside in Silver Spring, Md.
