Team Records and Series Notes
· Maryland improves their record to 6-1 while Drexel falls to 2-2.
· The Terps improve to 6-0 at home this season and have won 42 consecutive home games, extending the school record.
· This was the 2nd meeting between the Terps and the Dragons. Maryland owns the all-time series 2-0.
· The Terrapins will return to action Thursday, Dec. 3 when they host Minnesota at 7 p.m. in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.
Team Game Notes
· Line-up: Anjalé Barrett, Tianna Hawkins, Kim Rodgers, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This is a new lineup for the Terps, with both Hawkins and Rodgers earning their first career starts.
· Drexel and Maryland traded baskets for the first eight minutes and exchanged leads twice.
· Key run: Maryland took control of the game when sophomore Lynetta Kizer scored a layup with 11:55 remaining in the first half. That basket sparked a 13-3 Terps run that gave Maryland the lead for good. The Terrapins went into the locker room up 45-35.
· Maryland has had three or more players post double-figure points in five games. The Terps are 6-0 when at least three players score 10 or more points. The leaders in tonight’s game were Lori Bjork (19), Diandra Tchatchouang (18), Lynetta Kizer (13) and Anjalè Barrett (10).
· The Terrapins overpowered Drexel on the boards grabbing 40 rebounds to the Dragons’ 27. Maryland has out-rebounded their opponent in all games except one (at Mississippi State, 42-41).
· The Terps shot 50 percent from outside the arc (7-for-14) and 49 percent from the field (25-51).
· The Terrapins’ free throw percentage of 80.6 (25-of-31) is a season high.
· All eight players that appeared in tonight’s game scored at least two points.
Individual Game Notes
· Senior guard Lori Bjork was the Terps’ leading scorer with 19 points, a new season-high. She was 4-for-7 from outside the arc and 3-for-4 from the foul line. She also grabbed five rebounds in her 39 minutes.
· Freshman forward Diandra Tchatchouang scored 18 points in today’s win. She also pulled down five boards and dished three assists in her 24 minutes on the floor. She was 2-for-2 from outside the arc, 4-for-4 from the charity stripe and an impressive 6-for-11 from the field.
· Sophomore Lynetta Kizer made her first appearancein the game four minutes in and scored four points in her first minute on the floor. She finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals in just 18 minutes. She was a perfect 5-for-5 from the foul line.
· Sophomore guard Anjalè Barrett filled up the stat sheet with ten points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in her 37 minutes. Her three steals is a season-high for the guard.
· Sophomore guard Kim Rodgers, making her first career start, shot 7-for-8 from the foul line and scored nine total points. She pulled down four boards, had one assist and two steals.
