COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's basketball team concluded their regular season schedule against No. 9/9 Florida State Sunday afternoon. The Terps fell to the top-10 program, 94-61. Maryland continues to lead the Seminoles in the all-time series, 23-13.

The Terrapins had a big start against the Seminoles jumping out to a 6-0 lead and causing Florida State to call timeout before two minutes had passed in the game. The score knotted at 10 but sophomore Lynetta Kizer's sixth three-pointer of the season took the Terps ahead. Freshman Dara Taylor followed up with a steal and Kizer drew the foul, hitting both free throws.

Freshman Diandra Tchatchouang led Maryland in points with 23, her third 20-plus point performance of the season and 19th double-figure performance of the year. Kizer followed with 17 on 6-for-10 shooting. The Woodbridge, Va., native had 11 points in just eight minutes of play in the first half.

Florida State took their first lead of the game at 16-15 following a jumper from Alexa Deluzio. The score tied once and the lead changed three times before the Seminoles won the game.

In the second half Maryland went on a 13-2 run with 12 minutes remaining keyed by a three-pointer from sophomore Kim Rodgers.

Maryland won 13 homes games this season, including their most recent home win, a 20-point victory over Clemson. Also during the season they recorded a top-25 win over Virginia on the road.

Florida State has only recorded two losses in the ACC, one to Duke and the other to Miami, both on the road. Courtney Ward and Christian Hunnicutt led the Seminoles with 15 points apiece. The Seminoles had three first place votes in the Preseason ACC polls and were selected to finish third in the conference.

Prior to tip, Maryland recognized seniors Lori Bjork and Emery Wallace. Wallace was sidelined after playing one season but head coach Brenda Frese saw the effect Wallace had on the team from the sideline and knew she remained a key player for the Terps. The Roanoke, Va., native continued to travel with the team and provide encouragement and inspiration to all of her teammates. Bjork, a transfer from the University of Illinois, has given the 2009-10 Terrapins the senior position they were missing. Her constant efforts on and off the floor have rewarded her and the team immensely. Bjork is No. 2 in the Maryland senior record books in three-pointers made with 70 which also puts her at fourth in the single season records for treys. She also became a two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second team selection.

Maryland will prepare for the 2010 ACC Tournament which they are set to play No. 8 seeded North Carolina at 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 4. The game will be televised on RSN and on Fox HD.
