Before Maryland:
- Starred at Caravel Academy.
- Helped lead the Buccaneers to a state championship in 2017 and runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019.
- Named second team All-State in 2019.
- Gatorade Delaware Player of the Year finalist in 2020.
- Second-ranked shortstop prospect in the state of Delaware per Perfect Game.
- Ranked the No. 4 overall player in the state of Delaware per Perfect Game.
- Earned third team All-State honors in basketball in 2019 and 2020
- Son of Tripp Keister and Maureen Barry.
- Father, Tripp is a minor league manager in the Nationals’ organization and played college baseball at Delaware.
- Has two sisters, Madison and Kristin.
- Earned a 3.5 GPA at Caravel.
- Chose the jersey number eight because it has been his favorite number for a long time
