Biography

On Moss: Big, strong catcher who can also fill in at first base ... has good power at the plate.

As a Junior (2008): Hit .290 in 27 games as the team's No. 2 catcher ... made five starts behind the plate ... pinch-hit, two-run homer at Coastal Carolina (2/24) ... 1-for-3 with a double against Coppin State (3/5) ... made first-career pitching performance, pitching one perfect inning against North Carolina (3/22) ... hit three-run homer against Virginia (4/12) ... 1-for-1 with a run scored against Georgia Tech (4/19) ... 2-for-2 at Duke (4/25).

As a Sophomore (2007): Saw role increase as season progressed ... finished with .284 average ... saw first action of the season as a pinch hitter in win at UCF (2/16) ... blasted a home run in the loss at NC State (3/11) ... was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in win over Coppin State (3/14) ... was 1-for-2 with an RBI in win over Coppin State (3/28) ... drove in two runs in first start of the year at first base in loss to Wake Forest (4/7) ... started and hit a two-RBI double in loss to Deacons (4/8) ... was 1-for-2 with two RBIs in win against UMES (4/18).

As a Freshman (2006): Saw action in nine games, including two starts ... received 11 at bats, hitting .273 to go along with a .545 slugging percentage ... first hit of career was a two-run home run to left against Evansville (2/19) ... started his first game at designated hitter, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk and a run vs. Duke (3/3) ... made first career start at catcher, going 0-for-2 at Towson (3/14) ... picked up a pinch-hit single in season finale vs. Coppin St. (5/11).

At Walter Johnson: A four-year letterwinner in baseball ... was a first team All-Met selection by the "Washington Post" as a senior and a second team pick as a junior ... a two-time all-county and all-Gazette pick ... a three-time team MVP and two-time team captain for the Wildcats ... hit .540 with five home runs in 2005 ... batted .620 with 32 RBIs and four homers as a junior ... also lettered one season in basketball.

Personal: Son of Dina and Richard Moss ... has a sister, Sara ... a member of the National Honor Society ... a senior class officer in high school ... lists favorite athlete as Cal Ripken Jr. ... chose Maryland because he grew up cheering for the Terps ... also enjoys golf, basketball and fishing ... majoring in business.
