Laura Chiriaco returned to Maryland as the Executive Director of the M Club and Director of Alumni Engagement in April 2018. She enters her eighth school year in that role in 2024-25.
As the M Club Board director, Chiriaco is tasked with implementing a comprehensive engagement strategy for former student-athletes with the goal of increasing membership in the organization. Additionally, she plans and implements events for former student-athletes and alumni.
Chiriaco has strong ties to College Park. After graduating from Maryland earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, she returned to the university the first time as the head cheerleading coach for acrobatics and tumbling. She then served as the assistant director of development for two years.
In her time away from the university, Chiriaco worked as an Account Specialist for Discovery Communications from July 2015 - April 2018. She was also a teacher for Baltimore City Public Schools from August 2008 - August 2011.
