As a Senior (2016): Appeared in all 12 games, making four starts at right guard ... helped pave the way for a Maryland rushing offense that eclipsed 2,500 yards for the first time since 2003 ... helped Ty Johnson become the ninth 1,000-yard rusher in Maryland history ... led way for Maryland to score six rushing touchdowns against Howard (9/3)... blocked for Ty Johnson’s 204-yard rushing performance vs. Purdue (10/1).
As a Junior (2015): An All-Big Ten Academic selection ... appeared in seven games, making two starts ... made first career start at #10 Iowa, helping quarterback Perry Hills run for 108 yards.
As a Sophomore (2014): An All-Big Ten Academic selection … made one appearance, playing against James Madison (8/30) … earned his collegiate debut against the Dukes.
As a Redshirt Freshman (2013): Did not appear during the season.
As a Freshman (2012): Served a redshirt season … member of the scout team offense.
At Eleanor Roosevelt: Played offensive tackle and defensive tackle for the Raiders … helped lead his team to a county championship in senior season … a second team all-county selection in 2011 … started in 2011 county all-star game … helped team reach regional final in 2010 … also recruited by Carnegie Melon, MIT, and Delaware … coached by Tom Green.
Personal: Born in Sasebo, Japan … parents are De’larue and Keiko Shelton … has two brothers, Martice and Marolon, both of whom play football at Eleanor Roosevelt HS … sports hero is Clay Matthews … was a national AP scholar and a member of the National Honor Society … a recipient of the Banneker/Key Scholarship … graduated high school with a 3.7 GPA … majoring in real estate development.
