Carroll Kennedy joined the Maryland lacrosse staff in the fall of 2021 as the team’s volunteer assistant coach. Kennedy comes to Maryland after serving in the same role at Hartford during the 2021 season.

Kennedy helped lead the Hawks to a pair of wins during a shortened spring season in 2021, previously serving as the head coach at Lincoln Memorial University, in Harrogate, Tennessee for two seasons before. Kennedy led Lincoln Memorial to a 2-4 record in 2020, a campaign that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In his first season at the helm in 2019, the Railsplitters went 4-10.

During his time at Limestone, Kennedy developed one of the nation's top defensive units, as the team has finished in the nation's top-five in two straight seasons in 2015 and 2016 (7.36 goals allowed per game). While with the Saints, he guided five defensive players to a combined nine All-America honors. He also worked with the team's faceoff specialists, a unit that consistently led the nation in winning percentage during his tenure.

Kennedy played lacrosse at the collegiate level for four years, beginning his career at Monroe Community College (2007-08) before transferring to Adelphi University (2009-10). A Second Team All-Region selection at Monroe Community College, he helped guide Adelphi to a 10-5 record and a return to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Kennedy capped off his career by earning a spot on the NE-10 Spring All-Conference Team in 2010.

After graduation, Kennedy returned to his alma mater to kick off his college coaching career. As an assistant coach, he helped lead Adelphi to a 14-3 overall record, a No. 4 national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals.

Kennedy graduated in 2010 from Adelphi with a Bachelor's in sports management with a minor in business. In May of 2013, he earned a Master of Arts in Physical Education from Adelphi.
