Aisha Franke is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Maryland softball program.
Franke earned four varsity letters at UMass, where she excelled from 2001-2004. A three-time Atlantic 10 all-conference outfielder, Franke batted .346 and stole 56 bases during her career, ranking her sixth and fifth, respectively, on UMass career lists.
She helped UMass to four Atlantic 10 championships and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament. She was named Atlantic 10 all-conference in 2003 and 2004. Franke also was named All-Northeast Region in 2003, and she capped her career by earning NCAA all-tournament honors at the Region 8 tournament in 2004.
A native of Philadelphia, she earned four letters in softball at Germantown Friends (Pa.) School.
