Holly Frantz was hired in 2018 and is in her eighth year as the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports, where she oversees 16 Olympic programs and manages a staff of six strength coaches. She also works directly with the Softball and Men’s and Women’s Track Distance teams, leading all aspects of their performance training.
In May 2017, Frantz was honored as a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, which is the highest distinction in the profession.
Prior to arriving in College Park, Frantz spent nine years at the University of Tennessee, contributing to multiple Southeastern conference and NCAA successes for the softball, women’s golf, volleyball, and swimming and diving programs. Before her tenure at Tennessee, she worked for four years at Xavier University, primarily with women’s basketball, volleyball, women’s soccer, and both men’s and women’s golf and tennis. Frantz also spent one year at the University of Notre Dame, working directly with rowing and men’s and women’s golf and tennis.
Frantz began her career as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at her alma mater, Bowling Green State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management with a minor in marketing, as well as a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in sport administration. While at Bowling Green, she was a four-year letterwinner and team captain for the Falcons’ softball program.
Frantz holds professional certifications through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, USA Weightlifting, Titleist Performance Institute, and Functional Movement Systems.
Frantz and her wife, Lisa, reside in Greenbelt, MD.
