Biography
As a Freshman: Indoor- Competed in three meets for the Terps, running the mile and the 5,000 and 3,000 meter runs...took fourth in the 5,000 meter run at the Maryland Invitational...finished fifth in the 3,000 meter run at the Delaware Invitational.
Before Maryland: Won varsity letters at Urbana High School in cross country and track and field...was All-County, All-State and All-Region in cross country for four years...named Cross Country Athlete of the Year by the Frederick Post in 2001...was her cross country team's MVP for three years...participated in SADD and held a 3.75 GPA...will compete against former teammates Jen Baclawski and Lauren Graff, who run for American and Georgia Tech, respectively.
Personal: Amie Elizabeth Shomette...born January 14, 1984...daughter of Sharon and Dale Shomette...enjoys playing the piano, modeling, camping and art...has one sister, Michelle...majoring in biological science.
