2008 OUTDOOR TRACK- Finished with a time of 1:37.98 to place 9th in the 600 meters at the Virginia Tech Challenge... placed 9th in the 800 meters at the Thomson Invitational with a time of 2:26.69.
2008 INDOOR TRACK - Had a time of 2:33.65 and placed 11th in the 800 meters at the Navy Invitational.
BEFORE MARYLAND - Five-time NJCAA All-American while at Essex County (N.J.) Community College... Earned national title in the 600-meter run in 2006... Earned spot on Bahamian Junior National Team from 2004 through 2006... Graduated from Grand Bahamas Catholic in June 2005... Named outstanding senior athlete in high school.
PERSONAL - Mother, Sandra Laing, is a teacher... Expects to major in family studies at Maryland with an eye toward becoming a broadcast journalist... Lists NBA star Kobe Bryant as her favorite athlete... Enjoys traveling and shopping... Likes watching "South Park" on TV.
