As a Senior: Started in all 23 games for Maryland as a defender...racked up 20 ground balls and six caused turnovers...had a career-high three ground balls against No. 16 Penn State (2/20) and in the ACC Championship game against UNC (4/24)...also boasts three draw controls...tallied two ground balls each against Towson (3/29), No. 4 North Carolina (4/8) and No. 16 Georgetown (4/28)...integral part of nation's top ranked defense.

As a Junior in 2010: Appeared in seven games as a junior defender...picked up one draw control against Virginia Tech (4/17)...notched one draw control versus UMass (5/1)...also saw action in Maryland's NCAA First Round win against Marist (5/15) and against nationally-ranked foes New Hampshire (3/13), Stanford (3/25) and Dartmouth (5/8).

As a Sophomore in 2009: Played in eight matches for the ACC Champion Terrapins...registered four groundballs and two caused turnovers for Maryland, which ended the year at 21-1...tallied a groundball in wins versus Richmond (2/15), UMass (2/21), New Hampshire (3/15) and Virginia Tech (4/18)...tacked on caused turnovers against Richmond and UMass...saw action in Maryland's NCAA first round match against Colgate (5/10).

As a Freshman in 2008: Appeared in eight contests off the bench for Maryland...had one groundball and a pair of draw controls.

Prep: Earned eight letters in soccer and lacrosse at Centennial ... named to the Mid-Atlantic Team as a sophomore and junior while being named to the all-county team both those years ... Washington Post Honorable Mention on defense as a junior ... captain of both the soccer and lacrosse teams for two seasons.

Personal: Sara Rene Pitman Cooper was born on November 26, 1988 ... daughter of Kay and Jonathan Cooper ...major is kinesiology.
