Fran Bolletino, a veteran collegiate volleyball coach with more than a decade of Division I experience, has been hired as an assistant coach for the Maryland women's volleyball program, the school announced March 27, 2026.

Bolletino arrives in College Park following a successful stint as Head Coach at IMG Academy, where he led the 18U team to the program’s first-ever USA Volleyball National Qualification and a top-five finish in the Florida high school rankings.

Prior to IMG, Bolletino served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for both indoor and beach volleyball at Tennessee Tech. During his tenure, he helped guide the program to its most successful season since 1983, highlighted by its first postseason tournament victory since 2015.

A native of Berlin, New Jersey, Bolletino previously held coaching roles at the University of Duquesne and the College of William & Mary. Before William & Mary, Bolletino spent one year as a volunteer assistant at Maryland and two years as a volunteer at the University of the Sciences of Philadelphia. He also spent three years as a head coach at the Quandomania Volleyball Club in Sewell, N.J.Â

Bolletino played collegiately on the Penn State men’s club team, where he captained the squad to two EIVA championships and top-10 national rankings. He also contributed as a practice player and assistant with the Penn State women’s team, working closely with setters and defensive specialists during the program’s 2013 NCAA Championship season.

Bolletino graduated from Penn State in 2014 with a degree in criminology.
