Biography

2023-24 (GRADUATE STUDENT): 
  • Went 10-5 on the season
  • Seven of 10 wins were by fall, 7 pins led the team
  • Wrestled at Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, F&M Open and the Edinboro Open. Also wrestled at the American dual.

2022-23 (REDSHIRT SENIOR): 
  • Returned to team for spring semester
  • Made season debut on 2/4 against Rutgers and competed in five total matches.
  • Picked up first win against Columbia's Boris Witmer, winning by fall at 2:45. 
  • 3rd place at UWW U23 Greco-Roman Nationals over the summer. 

2021-22 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR):
  • NCAA Division I Regular Season Leader: Most Pins in Least Time 
  • Finished with 13 pins in 25:09
  • Fifth-place at 2021 Clarion Open.
  • Had back to back pins against Drexel and Duke in Terps' doubleheader (12/4).
  • Went 2-2 at 2022 Southern Scuffle including a pin of No.24 Jackson Disario (Stanford).
  • Went 3-1 at 2022 Virginia Duals with three pins (1/14-15).
  • Earned first two Big Ten victories of the season with pins against Indiana and Ohio State on (1/21 and 1/23).
  • 3rd place at UWW U23 Greco-Roman Nationals over the summer. 

2020-21 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE):
  • Wrestled in three matches, competing in the first three dual meets of the season at 125 pounds.
  • Made his season debut against Michigan (1/10). 
  • Competed in the MSU tri-meet vs. Michigan State and Minnesota (1/16).
  • Finished 4th at UWW Senior Greco-Roman Nationals.
  • Placed 3rd at USAW Greco-Roman World Team Trials.

2019-20 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): 
  • Served as Maryland’s primary starter at 133 pounds, appearing in all 19 dual matches.
  • Finished second on the team in wins by fall (5).
  • Opened the season with a 17-7 major decision over Southern Virginia’s Aaron Freidhof (11/2).
  • Posted two wins via fall and a technical fall to earn first place at the American Round Robin (11/9).
  • Earned three victories and finished in third place at the Black Knight Invite (11/9).
  • Earned his first dual win of the season with a pin of Fresno State’s Gary Joint at the Virginia Duals (1/10).
  • Posted his second win via fall of the Virginia Duals over Old Dominion’s Shannon Hanna (1/11).
  • Upset then-No. 19 Jordan Decatur of Ohio State to earn his first Big Ten dual victory (1/31).
  • Represented Maryland at the Big Ten Championships (3/7).

2018-19 (FRESHMAN):
  • Won 13 matches in open competition while serving a redshirt season.
  • Pinned eight opponents which was good for most on the Maryland roster.
  • Posted consecutive pins to kick off collegiate campaign at Princeton Open (11/4).
  • Wrestled unattached at Midlands Championships where he won by decision over Iowa's Perez Perez (12/29).
  • Won three matches, including two by way of fall at Wolfpack Open (11/18).
  • Stuck The Citadel's Will Jacobs in just 18 seconds at Wolfpack Open (11/18).
  • Won three bouts at the F&M Open (1/5).
  • Went 4-0 en route to a title at the Messiah Open (2/2).
  • Won all four matches at F&M Open by bonus points, including a trio of wins by fall (2/2).
  • Wrestled at National Collegiate Open (3/2).
  • Finished third at the 2019 UWW U23 Greco Nationals (6/1).
  • Placed sixth at the 2019 UWW Junior Greco Nationals.

Before Maryland: Four-time National Prep All-American (finishes: 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 5th)... 2018 National Prep Most Falls/Least Time award winner... three-time Maryland state champion and a four-time finalist... two-time Beast of the East placer (5th and 8th)... three-time Washington Post All-Met First Team selection... finished fourth at the 2018 UWW Greco Junior Nationals... 2nd at the 2017 UWW Cadet Greco Nationals... second at the 2018 USAW Junior Greco Nationals... 2nd in freestyle and 3rd in Greco at the 2017 UWW Cadet Pan Am Championships... 3rd at 2016 USAW Cadet Greco Nationals... high school record of 233-29 with 144 career pins.
