Biography

2024-25 (FRESHMAN):
  • Took a redshirt season winning eight matches in open competition.
  • Won four by decision, two by pin and one by major decision.
  • Pinned two opponents: Meyer Rosen (Bucknell) at 3:58 and Alex Reed (Lock Haven) at 4:45 at the Edinboro Open (2/16).
  • Also competed at Tiger Style Invite (11/9) and George Mason Patriot Open (12/8)
  • Made Maryland debut in season-opening match vs. Kent State (11/3)

Before Maryland:
  • 2023 Nebraska State Champion
  • Four-time Nebraska State medalist
Coach Alex Clemsen on Sanchez: "I have known Presden Sanchez's step-dad since I was 15, my wife has known him her entire life. I'm a big relationship guy. Our program is literally built on relationships. This was a no-brainer. El Prezidente! He already has a nickname! Going to be a lot of fun coaching him and watching him evolve over the next five years."
