Reagan Bednar joined the strategic communications and content development staff in February 2025 as a strategic communications assistant.
Prior to joining Maryland, she served as an assistant director in Army's athletic communications unit as the primary media contact for the women's basketball, men's lacrosse, gymnastics and men's rugby programs. She was also the primary point of contact for Army football credentials.
Prior to West Point, she was a member of the athletic communications office at Tulane, where she served in the role of strategic communications graduate assistant. During her tenure with the Green Wave, she served as the primary contact for the volleyball, beach volleyball and men's tennis programs.
During her time in New Orleans, Bednar also aided the communications and statisticians crew for New Orleans Pelicans home games. She served on the game week communications staff for the All State Sugar Bowl, helping coordinate press conferences and media availabilities leading up to the bowl game.
Bednar is a graduate of the University of Lynchburg, where she was a member of the women's lacrosse team. She earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic team recognition with the Hornets.
Across her time in Lynchburg, she served as an athletic communications student assistant at Liberty University. With the Flames, she served on the gameday staff for football, field hockey and basketball contests, assisting with stat programs, participation and postgame press conferences.
She also worked as a sports information student assistant at both Lynchburg and Guilford College. In addition to assisting on gamedays, she contributed as a staff writer for both student newspapers while assisting in the maintenance of the athletics' websites.
Bednar graduated from the University of Lynchburg in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. She is currently earning her master's degree from Tulane University in sports studies.
