Braxton Brown joined head coach Alex Clemsen's staff ahead of the 2026-27 season as Maryland wrestling's Director of Student-Athlete Development after a five-year career as a standout wrestler in College Park.

Brown, a four-time NCAA qualifier, earned two top-six finishes at the 2024 and 2025 Big Ten Championships, and received both the John C. McHugh Coach's Award and the Hudson Taylor Award in his redshirt junior and redshirt senior seasons.

Brown boasted winning records in each season he competed on the mat as a Terp, and continues to grow the young men in the Maryland wrestling program in his current role.

"The Maryland wrestling program has benefited and gotten better each year since the arrival of Braxton Brown to College Park,” Clemsen said. “I’m really excited to keep him home and involved with Clemsen and Company. Having a homegrown guy of Braxton’s caliber staying in the program is awesome on so many levels. I’m looking forward to continuing working with him in this new capacity as we all work to continue to build Maryland wrestling.”
