Chili Davis was promoted to Maryland's Special Teams Coordinator in February of 2026. He joined the Terrapin coaching staff in 2025 as an Assistant Special Teams Coordinator.
In 2025, Davis guided two Maryland specialists to All-Big Ten recognition. Kicker Sean O'Haire was named First Team All-Big Ten after converting 50 of 53 total kicks (21-24 FGS; 29-29 PATs). His 21 made field goals is tied for the third most in a single-season in Maryland history. Punter Bryce McFerson was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection after finishing the regular season second in the Big Ten with a 44.2 yards per punt average.Â
Davis has over a decade of coaching experience and has worked with special teams units at numerous different spots.Â
Davis arrives in College Park after spending one year with the Los Angeles Rams as a special teams assistant. Davis also has previous collegiate stops at Kansas State, Florida A&M, Washington, New Mexico State, Fordham and Campbell.Â
Davis played defensive back for Campbell from 2008 to 2011, and he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the university in 2012. He is married to the former Kiandra Brooks, and the couple has one son, Amir.
