Maryland senior Cathy Nelson was named the ACC Player of the Week for her performances during the week of March 16. The Ellicott City, Md. native notched six points in a pair of victories last week, including a hat trick against then-No.3 Virginia.
The Terrapins improved to 3-2 with two victories last week over then-No. 3 Virginia (11-8) and Harvard (13-6). The wins are the Terrapins' second and third in a row.
Maryland is now ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA poll dated March 23. North Carolina, Temple and Princeton head the top three, respectively.
