Women's Lacrosse Standout Named ECAC Player of the Year

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore Jen Adams (Brighton, Australia) has been selected the 1999 Eastern College Athletic Conference/Reebok Division I Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year by a panel of regional media and athletics administrators.

Adams was selected the top player from among the ECAC's 52 Division I women's lacrosse-playing colleges.

She led Maryland to a perfect 21-0 record and its fifth straight NCAA Division I championship with a 16-6 win over Virginia on May 16. The sophomore attack led the Terps with a school record 71 goals and 117 points. She also added 46 assists. Adams was named the NCAA Tournament's most outstanding player with eight goals in two games, including a four-goal, one-assist performance in the NCAA final.
