MARYLAND NOTES

- Maryland posted its 75th consecutive non-conference home victory and moved to 8-3 on the season with its 117-55 win over Chicago State. The win extended the longest active non-conference home winning streak in the nation. The 62-point win was the seventh-largest margin of victory in school history.

- Tonight's win raises Maryland's record at Cole Field House to 44-4 over the last four seasons. Its current home court win streak stands at 11 (its last loss at home was to No. 7 Duke on January 9 of last season).

- The Terps got off to a blazing start in tonight's game, running off 22 points before the Cougars scored their first of the evening. Maryland held Chicago State scoreless for the first 4:46 of the game.

- Maryland's 39-point first half margin (62-23 at intermission) is the largest it has taken to the locker room this season. It is also the largest margin since leading by 44 at the half (67-23) versus North Texas on December 23, 1998 as well as the highest point total at the break since that game two years ago.

- In their eight wins this season, the Terps are outscoring their opponents by an average margin of 31 points per game. At Cole this season, Maryland has beaten its opponents by an average of 45 points per contest.

- In four home games this year, Maryland has averaged 110 points per game.

- The Terps have now won seven games in a row. That is the most this season and ties the longest streak since it rattled off the same total against ACC foe two years ago (1998-99).

- Senior Mike Mardesich scored a career-high 15 points on a 7-of-8 shooting performance tonight. The 15 points comes on the heels of an 11-point effort against Norfolk State, the first time in his career that Mardesich has had back-to-back double-digit outings.

- Junior Juan Dixon surpassed the century mark for three-pointers early in the first half of tonight's game as he hit two within the first two minutes of the contest to add to his 98 entering the game. For the evening, Dixon finished with four (of six) threes to push his career total to 102, 7th on the all-time Maryland list.

- In his last five games, Dixon has been on fire averaging 23 points per outing (he had 24 tonight). Tonight marked his fourth-straight game over 20 (he had 19 against Stony Brook five games ago).

- Sophomore point guard Steve Blake had 12 assists tonight, falling just one shy of his career high of 13 set earlier this season against Stony Brook (12-6-00). Blake has now been in double digits for assists three times this season and has racked up 302 in his young career in College Park (he is already 12th on the Maryland all-time list).

- Maryland had six players in double figures in scoring in tonight's game. It was the first time that seven Terps hit double digits since February 6, 1999 (Profit, Morris, Baxter, Francis, Dixon and Miller, vs. Virginia).

- With eight boards tonight, Terence Morris now has 706 for his career. That total pushes him to 12th on the all-time Terrapin rebounding charts.
