Former Terp Steve Francis To Appear Thursday On ESPN UpClose

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Former Maryland guard Steve Francis is a guest Thursday with host Gary Miller on ESPN's UpClose. The Francis interview will air at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPN, and at 11 p.m. on ESPN2.
Francis, who completed his rookie season with the Houston Rockets averaging 18.0 points and 6.6 assists, was 15th in the NBA in assists, and his 1.53 steals per game were 20th.
Francis was named the co-winner of the Schick Rookie of the Month award for April, averaging 20.8 points, 6.9 assists and 6.5 rebounds.
He is joined on the Rockets' roster by another pair of former Terps, forwards Tony Massenburg ('90) and Walt Williams ('92).
