COLLEGE PARK, Md. - In what is University of Maryland's 47th and final college basketball season at Cole Field House, tickets for the highly ranked Terrapins' basketball games will be scarce during the 2001-02 season. However, as of Monday evening, Oct. 29, approximately 1,000 tickets still remained for each of the Terps' first three home dates.
Maryland opens its 2001-02 slate on Friday evening, Nov. 2, against the touring EA SPORTS All-Stars, in a prelude to their season-opening games at Madison Square Garden next week in the Coaches vs. Cancer IKON Classic (Nov. 8-9). Tipoff on Friday evening at Cole Field House is 8 p.m. The Terps battle Arizona in New York next Thursday at 9 p.m., with Florida and Temple meeting in the tournament opener at 6:30.
The second date for which tickets remain is on Tuesday, Nov. 13 when the Terps entertain the NIKE Elite exhibition squad at 8 p.m. Tickets also are available for Maryland's regular season home opener against cross-town opponent American University on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Tickets for the Coaches vs. Cancer IKON Classic in New York City, as well as all three of Maryland's first three home dates may be obtained by phone by calling the Terrapin ticket office at 301-314-7070 or any local Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets may also be purchased online at umterps.com or ticketmaster.com.
