COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams will chat online with college basketball fans on Monday, Nov. 12 on ESPN.com at noon.
Williams, who recorded the 240th victory of his 13-year coaching career at Maryland in the Terps' 82-74 win over Temple, will begin his third season of weekly Internet chats. Also a former Maryland point guard, Williams tied his own coach, Bud Millikan, as the second-winningest coach in Terrapin history during Friday night's win at Madison Square Garden.
Beginning this week, Williams will chat weekly with the nation's college basketball fans, every Monday at noon.
Maryland opened the regular season as the country's No. 2 team by the Associated Press and was No. 3 by USA Today/ESPN. The Terps are 1-1 overall before hosting their home opener next Saturday at 1 p.m. against American University, the school which handed Williams his first head coaching job 24 years ago. Williams will move into sole position as the second-winningest Maryland coach ever, with a win over the Eagles.
Maryland hosts a final exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m. against NIKE Elite.
