COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Seventh Annual BB&T Classic presented by TODAY'S MILITARY features local host schools, the University of Maryland and George Washington University, welcoming the University of Connecticut and Princeton University for a two-day college basketball tournament.

BB&T CLASSIC presented by TODAY'S MILITARY INFORMATION: Last year, GW and Maryland met in the finals of the BB&T Classic presented by TODAY'S MILITARY for the second consecutive year. Maryland, who advanced to the school's first Final Four in 2000, reversed the previous year's BB&T Classic results by defeating the Colonials 71-63. Proceeds from the BB&T Classic presented by TODAY'S MILITARY benefit the Children's Charities Foundation (CCF) of Greater Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1994, the CCF has distributed more than $3.3 million dollars to over 100 area charitable organizations. A pre-tournament gala, known as the BasketBall also benefits CCF. This year's event featuring Kool & The Gang will be held on Friday, November 30 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. For gala information, call 410-448-0700.
