Junior Midfielder Chris Malone

"Every season it's the biggest game on our schedule. This is the biggest win I've had with Maryland lacrosse. You come to Maryland to play Hopkins."

Sophomore Defender Michael Howley

"We got one quick goal in the fourth, and it was a huge momentum booster for the defense. We fed off of our offense in the fourth quarter."

"We were being tested when we went down two in the third quarter. We knew that feeling after the Virginia game. But we buckled down, played hard, and we stepped it up in the fourth and showed that we wanted in a little more."

Senior Goalie Pat McGinnis

"This is the biggest game of the season for us, and potentially my last game here at Byrd. This was the best possible way for me to go out."

"It's a 180. I'm experiencing completely different emotions than I did a year ago. I left Hopkins last year feeling as bad as I ever have over a game. They smoked us. I'm going to go to the tailgate and enjoy myself. I'm not afraid to admit that this is the biggest game on our schedule, the one I circle. Growing up in Baltimore, this means so much to me."

"Our offense was the key. Dan [LaMonica] scored after their run and ended their momentum. I just knew we weren't going to give up another run like that in the fourth quarter. Nobody gets two runs a game against our defense."

"We hadn't been competitive with Hopkins over the last two meetings, they were debacles (losing 13-3 in 1999 and 20-11 in 2000). But tonight, we erased out bad memories of those games with a complete performance. We played a great game and beat Hopkins means so much. We clicked and Pat McGinnis proved again why he's the best goalie in the country."
