Maryland Lacrosse Great Peter Worstell Named to National Lacrosse Hall of Fame

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland lacrosse great Peter Worstell has been named to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, USA Lacrosse announced Thursday.
A four-time All-American and All-ACC selection at Maryland from 1977-81, Worstell is the only player in Maryland lacrosse history to earn All-America honors at two different positions, attack and midfield. He was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary Team in 2002.
Following his Maryland career, Worstell became a transformative coach and influential figure in the growth of lacrosse, launching five boys' and girls' high school programs and playing a key role in the development of the sport in California.
Worstell has previously been inducted into six Halls of Fame, including the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Hall of Fame in 2023.
Established in 1957, the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport as players, coaches, officials, and contributors. Inductees are recognized for their on-field accomplishments and impact on the game.
Nearly 500 lacrosse greats are recognized in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, which is housed within the National Lacrosse Museum at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
