Maryland senior Juan Dixon is the focus of a half-hour special produced by ESPN Classic, which will air on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Dixon, who has overcome the tragic death of both parents while growing up in Baltimore, is one of the nation's top shooting guards and currently leads the Terps with an 18.0-point scoring average and 2.9 steals per game. He was a third-team All-American in 2001 and has twice been named first team All-ACC as he continues his final year of college play, hoping to lead Maryland to a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four.
A part of its Sports Century series, ESPN Classic is presenting a new sports feature series in 2001-02, focusing on college athletes. Twenty features are being produced including the story on Dixon. The Dixon feature, a part of ESPN College Sports Century is scheduled to originate on Jan. 16, and re-air on Jan. 18 (ESPN Classic) and Feb. 6 (ESPN). All air times are 7:30 p.m.
