
Gary Williams Radio Show Begins On Thursday Night

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams will begin his 2002-03 radio show on Thursday evening, Nov. 21, prior to the Terps' regular season opener on Sunday against Miami (Ohio) at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, Maryland hosts the RedHawks in what is the first regular season men's game ever to be played at the school's new, state-of-the-art, 17,950-seat Comcast Center. Pregame ceremonies will also include the unveiling of the Terps' national championship banner from 2002. An early arrival by fans is suggested for Sunday's game, to be televised live on ESPN2. Pregame ceremonies will begin at approximately 4:45 p.m.

Williams, in his 14th season as head coach of his alma mater and the ACC and national coach of the year after guiding the Terrapins to a national title last spring, begins his weekly radio show alongside longtime "Voice of the Terps," Johnny Holliday.
The show airs along the Terrapin Sports Network, from 7-8 p.m. Flagship station WBAL (1090 AM) in Baltimore will originate the live broadcast and take questions from callers. Tonight's show will be broadcast on location from Piv's Pub in Timonium, also the site of several shows last season.
The Gary Williams Radio Show will regularly air on Thursday evenings from 7-8. Next week's show will air on Tuesday, Nov. 26, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. A complete schedule follows:
