COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Maryland seniors Juan Dixon and Lonny Baxter were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)/Pontiac Division I All-District 5 first and second teams, respectively, as announced Tuesday by the NABC.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the All-District team members are now eligble for the NABC/Pontiac Division I All-America Team, which will be announced at the conclusion of the season.
Dixon was named a first team selection for the second straight season, after his naming as a third team NABC All-American in 2001. He was joined on the District 5 first team by Virginia's Roger Mason, Jr., and the Duke trio of Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy and Jason Williams.
Baxter was joined on the second team by Virginia's Travis Watson, Anthony Grundy of Wake Forest, and Darius Songaila and Josh Howard from Wake Forest.
Baxter and Dixon were previously selected as finalists for both the Wooden Award and the Naismith Award, which recognize the top collegiate player in the country.
